I'm glad that the intelligence reports about Iran's halting of it's uranium enrinchment program surfaced before the United States decided to launch another headlong leap into finding WMD's. With this newly released intelligence coming to light I don't think very many American's will be as supportive of immediate military action in Iran, as with Iraq. Releasing this information has shed a light on the United States government which is portraying it in a paranoid, conflict inciting organization. Intelligence reports state that Iran stopped its nuclear enrichment for the purpose of nuclear weapons 4 years ago due to international pressure. Obviously, this information would have been available to the highest level of American government officials and yet the country was still urged to put pressure on Iran under the guise that they almost definitely had the capability for nuclear war on hand, when in fact, the intelligence reports indicate that at the earliest, nuclear weaponry would be within Iran's reach at the tail end of 2009, if even that soon. It is understood also that Iran could begin a secret nuclear weapons program but does that potential option give anyone the right to invade the country on unconfirmed suspicion alone? The world should absolutely keep an eye on countries which show potential for developing dangerous nuclear weaponry especially when under the rule of a dangerous man such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but when intelligence shows no immediate concern of weapons why choose to promote misleading information to stir the feelings of the nation towards immediate and foolhardy military action? Obviously measures need to be taken to preserve peace and welfare of the free world, but in the same right this does not give any country the right to waltz into another country, unwelcome, and attempt to have its way.
